Situated in the heartland of India, Maheshwar a small city in Madhya Pradesh is home to India's finest hand loom fabric traditions since the 5th century and is a noted centre for weaving colourful Maheshwari sarees. The sarees are woven using silk and cotton fibers and are embellished in golden zari motifs. While the Pallus are particularly distinct with their five stripes, they are also famous for their reversible borders that can be worn either side.
