Our Story
The GaataKatha project was born to bring social and commercial benefits to struggling traditional handloom artisans in India. In directly connecting weavers with a global audience, we vie to generate more than mere sales – to instead generate dialogues between craftsman and patrons, encourage custom “co-creation” possibilities and collective growth. Our firm commitment to maintaining just and humane practices ensures you a product that is ethically produced and processed. Every single sale works towards the advancement of the handloom artisan communities: empowering their girl children, sanitation projects, and general improvement of living conditions. ABOVE ALL, WE AIM TO IDENTIFY AND ELEVATE THE FACELESS ARTISAN
The ‘Gaatakatha' project was conjured to play that key role of bringing social and commercial benefits to the artisan settlements. We desire to become the instrument though which the artisans can directly connect with the global audience.
